Behind-the-Scene
Mariève MacGregor is the person behind-the-scenes who is putting me to work and helping bring my words from the page to the stage.
Mariève MacGregor is a director, writer, choreographer, and dance teacher from Charlottetown, PEI. In recent years she has directed Arcadia (2015) and Shop Around the Corner (2017) for ACT, wrote and directed Blindess: A Dark Comedy (2015), and was choreographer for the Charlottetown Burlesque troupe from 2016-2018. Currently she teaches burlesque through the Downstreet Dance Studio and otherwise gets up to no good. Mariève is thrilled to get the chance to direct Julie in the debut of Short Circuits, and hopes audiences are as delighted as she is to delve into the mind of a philosophical poet.
“Short Circuits” includes original tracks created by Julie Bull and Siddhu Sachidananda, as well as songs from The Umbrella Collective's debut album, Welcome to Studio UC. It is such an honour that these incredible humans have shared their time and talent to bring my multi-sensory sound ideas to life.
